Why is it that the movie JUNO only plays in certain theaters and not in all????

i am really interested in seeing it but the problem is its not playing in a theater that is close to my house ... why do they always do this with certain movies ????do they purposley make it hard for us to find and watch????

The limited release is to build up word of mouth. It's harder to sell a small movie with no big stars as opposed to, say, "I Am Legend." Keeping it in limited release allows people to hear about a smaller through critics or media reports. Then, when it opens wider, people are excited to see it.

The good news is that "Juno" is scheduled to have its nationwide release on Jan. 4 so it should be playing pretty much everywhere by that point.

Juno is what would be classified as an Independent movie. It's a movie that is not fully supported by a major motion picture studio and is done by a cast and crew that works independently from movie companies. So as a result they get less money to distribute the films. They make less copies. And they choose only a select few theaters to let them play it.
Thanks Andrew i always wondered
